Laura Linney is an American actor who has become popular for her portrayal of strong but vulnerable characters. After spending the summers at the company of her father Laura Linney was captivated with theatre. After that, at Brown University she studied acting as well as at Juilliard School, after which, her career took off. She began her Broadway career soon after completing her degree after which she made her debut on television the following year. In the years since, she's been involved in numerous films, television shows and stage performances. Throughout her professional career, she's received many awards, which include 2 Golden Globe Awards and four Primetime Emmy Awards as well as three Academy Award nominations and five Tony Award nominations. She has been nominated for five Tony Awards as well as three Academy Award nominations.
